Question 10: Use the Internet, an encyclopaedia or general science book to find definitions of:

  1. element
  2. compound
  3. mixture
  4. Use your definition and the examples printed below to suggest other examples of elements, compounds and mixtures.

For example:

a gold ring - gold is an element

sugar - a compound

a cup of tea - a mixture of sugar, water, tea and milk.

Mixtures cannot be represented by a formula. (Do you know why?)
